We were all born with an innate relationship with food.
As babies, we ate when we were hungry.
We stopped when we were full.
It was that easy.
Things happened in my life that changed my relationship with food.
When I didn’t know where to find comfort, I turned to food.
When I was scared, I didn’t ask for help. I turned to food.
When I felt unhappy, I didn’t make changes. I turned to food.
When I was angry, I didn’t deal with it. I turned to food.
Sometimes, I would mix it up and go shopping instead.
But then, sometimes, I was broke.
No shopping. :-(
It kept me angry at myself for being a fitness professional who ate her feelings.
I’m supposed to be PERFECT!
It made me ashamed that I didn’t make better choices.
Worst of all, it made me disconnected from myself.
It made me neglect my feelings and my true self.
I shut down emotionally.
Every woman I know has been shut down in some way.
It happens for too many different reasons.
We all have different experiences but many of us become the same.
We turn to food.

When I was lonely, I didn't eat. I did something different.
When I was angry and frustrated, I did something different.
When I was terrified, I did something different.
I did not eat because I was not hungry.
And I had different results.
I felt better.
I felt proud.
I felt in control.
I felt strong.
I also felt terrified, angry, lonely, resentful, frustrated and helpless
but those feelings didn't topple me.
I had learned to DEAL with my feelings.
I had created productive outlets for my them.
I worked through them and not around them.
Not only did I survive, I thrived through it.
After 20 years in fitness and wellness,
I started formally coaching others in weight loss.
Everyone wanted a diet, meal plan or workout regimen.
Instead, I asked them about WHEN they ate, WHY they ate and HOW they felt.
I asked them WHAT was going on in their lives.
I asked them WHO was causing them anxiety.
I asked them what FEELINGS they were running from.
When clients started addressing their FEELINGS instead of stuffing them, they lost the need to eat.
They learned to cope with their feelings.
And they lost weight.
More importantly than losing weight,
they gained confidence, empowerment and self-esteem.
So I put together my program that walks people through the process of
working through your emotions instead of pushing them down.
